Hello
For those of you who have been following me on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube since the summer of 2022, you are used to seeing me on your screen reading poems and short stories, and maybe even listening to my podcast Quite So!
My Story
My given name is Hoda Jreidini, but I use the alias Dada on social media, partly because it is easier to pronounce, and partly because I love the different meanings that the word Dada carries: mother in some cultures, father in others, nanny in many and caregiver in some; most interesting for me, though, is its connection to the Dadaist movement that came as a reaction to the horrors and barbarism of WWI - needless to say, it speaks to the rebel in me.

My love of reading began when I was a few years old, and that was why I majored in English Literature and Theater. After teaching English for about twelve years, I had the opportunity to work as a paralegal at an educational institution, and after seven years of working there I graduated with a Master's degree in Business Law. You might think it is quite a leap to go from teaching English to working in the field of law, but most of my office work comprised of writing and reviewing contracts, and it seems that any type of writing appeals to me.

I began my journey on social media in 2022 with I Read Aloud, and my journey took me from reading poems and short stories to starting the Quite So! podcast in 2024, beginning a blog in 2025 and transforming people's failed love stories into fairytales in Why's Love So Hard?

All in all, I am enjoying this new experience of unleashing my creativity, and I hope you hop on for the ride and enjoy it with me, too!

I am Lebanese, and I currently reside in Beirut, Lebanon.
